A Problem With Hotel Reservations

There is a rather large advertising campaign that has been all over television commercials in which a certain company encourages the public to negotiate their own price for hotel rooms in a city of their choice.

Does anyone have a problem with the fact that you don't know which hotel you are paying to stay in until after you pay for the hotel reservations?

It might be four stars, but what part of town is it located in? Is it even anywhere near the attractions you came to see?

Sometimes what attracts us to a certain hotel is not just how many stars it has. I don't always care how many pools and spas a hotel has; I am not travelling to see the hotel, I am travelling to see the location.

I guess the moral of the story is not to be tricked into advertising. It might sound good at first, but it might be better to get what you really want. Besides, you never know how much you are really saving when you don't know which hotel it is and at what price their rooms usually go for.
