Our economy isn't doing too well right now, but that's no mystery. Purchasing airfare and booking rooms at hotels for this week would not be the smartest idea. However, if you buy far in advance you will be saving yourself a great deal of money. Sometimes this is not very feasible, and things can come up out of the blue. Luckily, I have a few suggestions for affordable San Diego hotels that might save you a few bucks.

Currently, some of the cheapest rates around the city of San Diego can be found at the Mission Valley Resort and the Days Hotel at Hotel Circle. These rates are between 66 and 69 dollars per night, which at the moment is pretty reasonable. If you would like to stay somewhere a little classier, then you can book a room at the Handlery Hotel & Resort for $119 or at The Dana on Mission Bay for $125. Of course, if money is not an issue then you can always check out some of the beautiful establishments in the Gaslamp district.
